I've been complaining on Twitter for a couple of days now about my health. I'm sorry for annoying you. But, I'm sick. Again. And it's getting old. I've had a sore throat since Monday night, and I'm congested, and have a runny nose (don't ask me how). Last night I had a fever of 100.5 degrees. And I hardly ever get fevers. So when I do, chances are I'm about to get real sick, Exhibit A: 103 degree fever for 7 days = Pheumonia. But I took tylenol right away, went to bed, and woke up with a temp of 96.7. Which is actually pretty normal for me.
I did the math, and as we are almost 6 weeks into the new year, I have been sick for 4 of those weeks.
Feel free to feel sorry for me.
I got home from dance tonight and decided while I was hungry, I was too tired to make anything for myself to eat. And then my sister called and said she had my Girl Scout cookies to deliver. Dinner is served!
Don't judge the fact that we are 2 people who purchased 6 boxes of cookies. The truth is, this is only half of what I will purchase this year. Two of my nieces are Girl Scouts, and thus every February I buy enough GS cookies to last me the entire year (FYI We finished our last box of last years GS cookies in November).
The truth is I only really like (meaning I eat them by the sleeve/row/box) the Lemon Chalet Cremes, and the Peanut Butter Patties (I don't care if the box says Tagalongs-when I was a Brownie they were Peanut Butter Patties, and that is what they will forever be). Carmel deLites (reference the Tagalong comment, and while were at it.. ahem Trefoils? please. Shortbread), are not my thing, not a coconut fan. And Thin Mints I only like crushed up in a blizzard (a la Dairy Queen) with hot fudge, so I try to stay away from those. But these Lemon Chalet Cremes are a godsend I love them. They are delicious. If you know me I am a sucker for lemon anything. In fact the first recipe I ever made, all by myself, from scratch, following a recipe was Lemon Bars. They were soo good my family requested them for family events, and even when they were asked to bring a dessert to a party from the time I was 7 until I was 17. I miss those Lemon Bars.
These things are like crack Oreos. Lemon flavored Oreos, which makes them better (don't argue). I eat them like Oreos too. Seperate, lick the creme, eat the cookie, grab another. I have almost completely finished one sleeve. If you haven't tried them, and love lemon anything, go find your local Girl Scout, and fork over th $3.50 for a box.
I'm enjoying these with a mug of Celestial Seasonings Candy Cane Lane Green Tea. This stuff is so good, I don't even need to sweeten it. And I don't really like peppermint tea, but this does taste almost like a candy cane. And it pains me that I only have one box of this stuff left. Until next December I guess....
Unless this box lasts like my Girl Scout cookies. I feel better already.
P.s. I don't think this batch of Lemon Cremes is gonna last me until November.
What is your favorite Girl Scout Cookie?
-Lemon Chalet Cremes. Duh.
What are you having for dinner?
-Lemon Chalet Cremes. Duh. Oh, and Candy Cane Lane tea. Maybe a frozen veggie burger, if I ever get off this couch.
What do you do to get healthy when you feel like you're getting sick?
-I eat very nutritious foods, and exercise. Syke! I sit on the couch, drink tea, and beg Boomer to bring me fried eggs, dry toast, and chicken noodle soup. And eat Girl Scout cookies, apparently.
